Driven by Purpose. Rooted in Community.
Adama Magassouba is the founder of Indigo Daycare & Indigo Care Foundation. A passionate advocate for children and families, and a dedicated leader with roots in both the U.S. and West Africa.
Born in Staten Island, New York to parents who immigrated from Guinea Conakry, Adama is a proud first-generation American who understands firsthand the challenges and resilience of immigrant families.“Fluent in Fula, French, and Mandingo, she is deeply committed to maintaining meaningful connections with her community in Guinea. Her multilingual ability allows her to engage authentically, understand the needs of those she serves, and ensure that the foundation’s work remains rooted in cultural awareness, trust, and genuine impact.”
Her journey started in 2017 as a Child Care provider where she opened her child care center, dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children and their families. Thereafter, she worked as a senior consultant for the Department Of Education at the Federal Student Aid Department, where she gained valuable insight into the challenges faced by underserved communities and the education system.
Driven by her heritage, her faith, and her love for community, Adama launched [Indigo Care foundation ] to expand her impact beyond the classroom—supporting mothers and children in Guinea Conakry, Abuja, Nigeria and Throughout West Africa with basic needs, education, and hope for a better future.
Her work is rooted in compassion, cultural understanding, and an unwavering belief that every child deserves a strong start in life—and every mother deserves support on that journey.

From Childcare to Community Impact
A Beginning
Adama began her journey in childcare, opening Indigo Daycare to provide children and their families with a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment.
Education & Service
Her experience later expanded through her work as a senior consultant with the U.S. Department of Education's Federal Student Aid Department, giving her valuable insight into education and the challenges faced by underserved communities.
A Bigger Vision
As the needs of families became increasingly visible, Adama expanded her vision beyond the classroom and founded Indigo Care Foundation.

Every Child Deserves a Strong Start
Adama’s work is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: no child should have to go without the essentials they need to grow, and no mother should have to face hardship alone.
What began as a desire to nurture children through Indigo Daycare grew into a broader calling — to stand alongside mothers, children, and families who need support beyond the classroom.
